Marketplace Safety
Serious equipment deserves serious verification.
BigEquipCo helps buyers and sellers connect, but marketplace tools do not replace independent verification of the machine, counterparty, payment instructions or transaction documents.
Before money moves
Build a verification habit into every transaction.
Confirm the company or individual, business location, contact details and authority to sell the equipment.
Review serial/VIN information when applicable, condition, service records, photos and included components. Use an independent inspection when the value or risk justifies it.
Treat last-minute wire changes, mismatched account names and pressure to move funds quickly as reasons to stop and independently re-confirm instructions.
Confirm who is arranging freight, pickup location, loading requirements, dimensions/weight and any permits before equipment moves.
Messaging and contact
Use BigEquipCo for context, not control.
Listing-linked conversations are useful.
Keeping questions and seller responses tied to the equipment can make it easier to review what was discussed, especially when multiple pieces are being evaluated.
Preview MessagesOff-platform contact is not treated as lost value.
Heavy-equipment transactions often move to phone, email, inspection and logistics coordination. The marketplace business model is built around paid listing capacity and dealer products rather than forcing communication to remain inside the site.

Slow down when the transaction stops making sense.
• Price is dramatically inconsistent with comparable equipment without a clear reason
• Seller refuses reasonable verification or inspection
• Payment beneficiary changes unexpectedly
• Urgency is used to prevent verification
• Equipment location or ownership story keeps changing
• Documents, serial numbers or photos do not match the listing
